Tone Your Arms Now for Those Strapless Summer Dresses

Summer is finally here, and as we start to dig out or invest in new clothes to suit the warmer weather, our thoughts often turn to toning up to be fit and healthy for the summer months.

As the temperature soars, there are so many gorgeous options when it comes to summer dresses, and a big trend this season is for floaty strapless maxi dresses. For those wanting to tone their arms to accentuate them in this style of dress, there is a range of exercises you can try to get your arms in perfect shape.

All you will need is some dumbbells or even cans of beans!

Overhead Tricep Extension

This exercise will work all your triceps and you will feel it! Take a weight in each hand and put them above your head, bend your arms behind your head and then straighten them up. Repeat this ten times. 
Put your arms up above your head with a dumbbell in each hand. 

Field Goal Post

This is so named because your arms take the shape of a football goal post, and it is great for toning your shoulders. With a weight in each hand, bring them out in front of you at shoulder height, and then open your arms up to resemble goal posts. Then move your arms down to your sides and repeat up to ten times.

Bent-Over Reverse Fly

This is another great exercise for your shoulders. Take a weight in one hand, and with your knees bent, straighten your arm down towards your knees and then pull up towards yours armpit. Repeat ten times.


With a weight in each hand, rest your arms down by your sides with your palms facing outwards. Then simultaneously curl your arms up to your shoulders. You can also add an extra step here by then lifting the weights up over your head.
